Home appliances include all the appliances that do a particular task in the home. These include kitchen appliance, vacuum cleaner, sewing machine, curling iron, white goods and much more. Every room at home is vulnerable to infestation by germs, dust, mold and other forms of dirt. With this exposure to all forms of dirt, it is therefore important to learn how to clean your appliances. Three of the main areas that most people clean are the kitchen sink, toilets and floors and they tend to overlook the appliances. 

Home improvement and Cleaning

Home improvement incorporates the addition/alteration, conversion, remodeling, modernization or repair of a building as a whole or a part of it. One of the items repaired in a home as mentioned earlier are the appliances which get dirty real quick. When you don’t clean your appliances, you allow the germs to thrive and in the long term, some of the appliances’ performance is affected. Therefore care is needed when cleaning the various appliances from the electronics to the kitchen items. In the kitchen learn how to clean your appliances to avoid the risk of injury by sharp objects. 

Some of the detergents used in cleaning the appliances pose various dangers such as: highly corrosive and can cause harm if ingested. These should be kept out of reach of children and pets. Appliances like the dishwasher should be cleaned monthly to prevent the clogging of data and germs and ensure the machine’s efficiency is well maintained. For the washing machine if kept for long without washing there could be the growth of the Salmonella germs. Once in every month ensure you run a round of hot water mixed with small amount of vinegar to cleanse and sanitize the machine. This helps in killing the germs. There it should be on the list of to do things when it comes to how to clean your appliances. 

Garbage disposal appliance should not be ignored since it’s probably the most important bin in the entire household. Basically to clean use few drops of cut up lemon, tablespoons (a few) of salt and some ice cubes. Lastly, the microwave is everyone’s darling when it’s time to warm some food and thus cleaning it should be as frequent as possible. To clean it use a bowl full of water preferably one cup capacity, add several slices of lemon or alternatively, you can use distilled white vinegar. Place the bowl in the microwave and turn it on for about three minutes ensuring the heat is kept on high until the water is hot and produces steam. Next step opens the door and wipe the microwave interior with a soft clean cloth. Ensure this is repeated monthly. Teach your children also how to clean your appliances so that they will learn to avoid getting ill.
